George T. Morgan & Anna W. Williams
George T. Morgan, designer of the Morgan Dollar, was an English immigrant to the US in 1876. Anna W. Williams, an art student, served as the model for the face (Lady Liberty) appearing on the coin's obverse. The Morgan silver dollar was the product of America’s largest silver strike, which occurred at the Composition of the Morgan Dollar is 90% silver, 10% copper, Weight 26.73 grams
The Morgan Silver Dollars were minted from 1878 through 1904 and once again for the final time in 1921.
She later became known as the "Silver Dollar Girl".
Comstock Lode in northern Nevada in the mid-1870s. Though it never gained broad appeal during its production run (1878-1904; 1921),
its connection to an important period in American history has rendered it a highly sought after piece among collectors.
